I went to watch the game here once, and once was enough. I must say that the food was good, but the service lacked. My wife and I were sitting at the bar, it was not overly crowded (seats left at the bar) and we still sat around waiting for a beer and for our bill to be paid. When a kitchen worker came out to watch a bit of the game, he pointed us out to the bartender, which was too busy sucking down her miller light, to take the bill and our card that was sitting out in plain view. She looked right at us, and looked away. I finally had to flag her down and ask her to take out for our bill.
I guess I can be nice and say that it is a good place to watch the game, it was not busy, the food was good but the service sucked and the crowd was annoyingly pounding on the bar every play! But dont take my word for it, check it out yourself.

I havent been there yet, but I am hoping this place is very similar to The Brat House on State Street in Madison (as it should be). My dreams of long tables, St. Pauli Girls running around, beer stained floors, and lots a German Music is what I am hoping for. If this is just a "Fake" Haus, then its not worth going too.

I just started working at the Brau Haus when we opened last Thursday. As a patron, I can see the concern for the prices, but I have to mention that we serve our beer in half liters, liters and boots, which are larger than mugs or pints, and the german beers we have on tap are more potent than domestic beer, so $6 for a half liter isn't too bad. Also, we have a full bar of bottled domestic and imported beer, $3 for a domestic bottle is pretty regular. Us girls are there Weds thru Saturday from 6pm to close to serve as your cocktail waitresses and co-bartender, and there is a lounge with 3 couches, two round tables with umbrellas on one side, and the 4 picnic style tables are on the dancefloor until 10pm when we clear it off, dim the lights and start playing music. There is lots of space to sit without having to be next to other people you don't know. Sorry to anyone who didn't enjoy their experience, and I hope you'll consider giving it another try. Given we have only been open less than a week we, especially Frank, are all open to suggestions. Thanks!

I was really looking forward to this place.
unfortunately I was disappointed, not by the beer, the two beers I had were fine,
a little pricey but after all I am down town.(thats for another show)
I really thought they would have put more effort into making like what you think
a German beer hall would look like. ie music, atmosphere...(St. Pauli girls, we weren't there late, maybe they showed up later)
I don't know if it was possible but they should have knocked out the wall dividing
the place up.(maybe they couldn't)
Then put a couple, three big wood tables with benches in the place
you make people sit next to each other even if they don't know you. (isn't that how it works)
Any way great idea but my opinion they came up short

sorry for all of your dissapointments...but just to let you know we appreciate the feedback here, and in person. As an update...tilapia is off the menu (there was nothing wrong with the refrigerator, just could not get a consistent product from my vendor), ribs are now from a different butcher (closer to home, and better...so much less tough)...and dessert menu has been upgraded...chocolate cake, creme brulee, and cheesecakes all made in house.

thanks again for the feedback, and hoping another try is in your futures

<a href="#comment-777" rel="nofollow">@You are stupid</a>
I'm thinking you have some connection with Bates City. Overall, the flavor of the ribs were good and they had a good chew of them. I agree that the pulled pork would've been blah without the sauce. I also think the review is dead on and when it comes to the overall experience and you have to agree with that. You walk in and see this huge smoker behind the counter, smell the smokey environment and get excited. Your taste buds wake up and start getting ready for some Great Q. Then you watch as you get served ribs out of a refrigerator and "Nuke Them". How is that an awesome restaurant? They need to do something about that. I understand it is difficult to keep things fresh and try to minimize waste all of that (I have worked in the restaurant business), but don't nuke my food in front of me if that is what you have to do. At least put the fridge and micro behind a wall so the customer can't see it. There has to be a way to keep a few ribs ready at peak times and keeping them warm some other way. Watching someone Nuke your ribs sets it up for a bad experience. I hope they can improve on it.
